JPSC Eligibility Criteria 2024 & Syllabus (Pre & Mains)

The eligibility criteria for applicants are specified in the Jharkhand PSC official notice. It is suggested for all the students who are sitting for the JPSC examination to verify the eligibility requirements before submitting the application form.There are various aspects that define the qualifying requirements include nationality, age restriction, educational qualification, and physical fitness. Therefore, applicants are encouraged to inspect each region attentively. Once the individual satisfies the eligibility conditions, then he or she may complete the Jharkhand PSC application form. Candidates who successfully fill out the application form will subsequently be eligible to acquire the admission card. The JPSC examination is held to select candidates for different civil service positions that are given under the administration of the Jharkhand government.

Here we will look at the factors relating to the Eligibility criteria in the JPSC Examination. State Commission has specified about the eligibility criteria as:

A. Must be Citizen of Republic of India.

B. Qualification

  • As per JPSC the minimum Education qualification for aspirants to appear in the JPSC exam is Bachelor’s degree in any course from a centre/state recognised university.
  • For the Students those are in Final Year of their Examination, must have completed and cleared their examinations before they submit their Application.

C. Age Limit:a minimum age requirement for all the Services is 21 Years under the JPSC. While upper age limit differs as per one’s Category as:

Physical Criteria

  • Candidates have to pass a medical examination to get into services and there are some special physical criteria for the selected post in the JPSC Services which are:
    1. DSP of Police
    2. District Commandant/Jail Superintendent/Probation Officer.

Other Medical requirements for the above posts as mentioned by JPSC are:

  • No illness of bones and joints in the body
  • The candidate should not have history of a psychological problem or fits.
  • BP should be normal.
  • No Cardio-vascular disease.
  • No physical disability
  • She/ He should not be suffering from Claw Hand.
  • The candidate must be HIV negative.
  • Candidate should not have this problem of colour blindness or night blindness.
  • That basic ECG and EEG should be within normal range
  • Candidate should be of sound health and should have normal hearing ability.
  • Candidate must not have any of the conditions such as hydrocele, piles disease
  • However, if a candidate is afflicted by such kind of skin disease likely to lead to handicap or deformity, then their candidature will be dismissed.

No of attempts:

  • There is no restriction on the no of attempts only candidate must fulfil the above mentioned criteria.

JPSC Reservation

Candidates must be aware of the following crucial factors concerning the JPSC reservations:

  • Applicants who wish to be considered for benefits of reservation will be allowed only if she/he is Jharkhand state’s resident.
  • Reservation applicants must produce original category certificates to the interview board.
  • A candidate who does not take the category certification documents from the authorities at the time of interview for the JPSC recruitment will not be able to get the benefits of the reserved categories.
  • Any candidate either male or female who will be found to have more than one spouse (husband/wife) will not be eligible for the JPSC recruitment.

Note:Applicants are very advised to select a category while filling the JPSC application form because they will not be given another chance to change the category. They must appear for the JPSC interview with the original documents for document verification and Candidates who fail to submit the documents within the allowed time will not be given another chance to present them.
